MICKEY HAGEY CENTER FOR ANIMALS Recognizing that pet overpopulation has resulted in a crisis for animals and jeopardizes the health and safety of Houston's citizens, Saving Animals Across Borders is working to increase the number of dogs and cats sterilized and to increase the number of homeless animals adopted from the city's Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), so fewer animals will have to be destroyed. To achieve this goal, Saving Animals has created the Mickey Hagey Center for Animals, an animal sterilization clinic to spay or neuter adoptable pets from BARC and to provide access to affordable sterilization and wellness services for animals belonging to the general public.
